Think of colour as make-up for hair. It can be natural and discreet, be used to make a statement, be frivolous and fun or strong and bold. The very best colour techniques enhance the cut, and often very little colour is needed to make a great effect.
In the past, our options were restricted and the aim simply to cover grey. Now we have a huge number of products and techniques at our disposal, and our Technical Team train to the very highest level to ensure the very best results.
Colour can be confusing to the novice, so here are a few explanations to help you choose the service that is right for you.
Color Fresh
A no-ammonia, no-peroxide colour designed to last up to 10 shampoos. It can be used to add a hint of colour, freshen a tired-looking previous colour, add tone to natural hair or neutralise yellow tones in lightened hair. It's not really suited to covering grey but is a really quick and effective way to add shine and interest to hair.
Color Fresh is applied to damp hair and the whole process takes about 15 minutes. Due to the gentle nature of the product, it cannot lighten your hair. It is usually applied as a whole-head colour.

Semi-permanent colour
Our oxidisng semi-permanent colours are designed to last up to 24 shampoos. They can blend up to 70% of grey hair and are a great introduction to colour. They can darken, add tone, freshen colour and neutralise unwanted tones too. They are usually applied to damp hair (but occasionally dry hair) and the whole process takes around 30 minutes.

Fashion techniques
These are tailored techniques using semi-permanent or permanent colours. The techniques are there simply to enhance the cut, and might involve a flash of colour, outlining a fringe section, a panel of a different colour or tone, or a hidden tone seen only as the hair moves.

Highlights & Lowlights
A highlight is any colour lighter than your natural shade, a lowlight is anything darker. We use foil as an application aid as we find this gives us the best in flexibility and clean sectioning. A full head of foils adds strands of colour throughout the entire style, a half head encompasses the top parting section as far back as the crown and the side sections to the back of the ear.

Full head tint
One permanent colour all over which can be lighter, darker or imitating your natural shade. This offers up to 100% grey coverage and will nead maintaining with a TINT REGROWTH as the hair grows.

Skin testing: Following the advice of our manufaturers, we insist on skin-testing prior to EVERY colour service. We can provide a skin test for you to take home or an in-salon test is available. The test must be carried out no more than 7 days and no less than 48 hours prior to colouring. You will be asked to sign to confirm that the test has been carried out and that no adverse reaction has occurred.
We will refuse to colour any client who has not carried out a skin test EVEN IF A PREVIOUS COLOUR HAS NOT CAUSED A REACTION. This is for your protection and we appreciate your understanding.
